Laser Hair Restoration

Fotona’s Smooth Mode using the ER:YAG is used for hair restoration as it stimulates dormant hair follicles with control and gentle bulk heating. This also increase the blood flow to the scalp resulting in productions of hair growth. It is a 15-20 minute procedure with minimal discomfort and no need for numbing. For optimal results, recommended treatment is to combine platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment 2 weeks apart.

PRP – Hair Restoration

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been around for several decades and has been widely used in skin and wound healing. PRP is your own blood plasma that is enriched with platelets, making it a natural and organic option, specific to you. Our blood is made of two main components, red blood cells, and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. PPR contains several different and powerful growth factors that stimulate the healing of bone and soft tissue, as well as hair growth! Growth factors can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth. When we inject PRP into the scalp it actually stimulates the stem cells in the hair root that turns on the hair follicle again. In addition, PRP contains six growth factors, so it stimulates blood flow to the hair follicles encouraging the hair to grow normally again. The procedure involves placing blood drawn from the client into a special machine that separates red blood cells from the plasma which is rich in platelets and contains the growth factors. The Platelet rich plasma is reinjected into the scalp to stimulate growth. Many evidence-based articles and research has shown that PRP is beneficial in increasing the hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle. Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently exfoliate the top player of dulling dead skin cells. This reveals a smooth, radiant, bright complexion. Chemical Peel

What to Expect?

3-4 days Before Your Facial Peel Treatment

Discontinue the use of topical retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol and other potentially irritating products.

IMPORTANT:
If you have had any procedure such as IPL, laser or microdermabrasion, avoid having a peel treatment until your skin has completely healed.

After Your Facial Peel
Don’t panic! Redness, stinging, itching, tightness, mild swelling, flaking, and peeling, are all normal reactions following a peel. The severity of these responses varies for each individual.

Exfoliation generally will start 2-3 days after treatment and ends by approximately day 5.

Avoid rubbing, scratching or peeling/picking the skin with your fingers while healing

For at least 7 to 10 days following the peel, avoid direct sun exposure to best allow your skin to fully heal. If at any time throughout the healing process direct sun exposure cannot be avoided, use a broad spectrum SPF 50 sun protection, as necessary. Apply very lightly and gently to avoid premature exfoliation.

Do not use alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids and other potentially irritating products until the skin has fully healed.

You should also avoid running water directly on your face while showering for 24 hours

Avoid strenuous exercise and consequent sweating until the skin has completely healed.

Do not have any other procedures such as facials, hair removal, microdermabrasion and lasers until the skin has fully healed.

Once your skin has healed, return to the daily skin care program your medical aesthetician or physician would have recommended.

What happens?
Over the following days and weeks, collagen production is increased, which fortifies the anatomical structures of the skin. Dermal structures are supported by collagen and elastin, so the increased production of these two essential components creates a healthy environment for the skin to regenerate itself after being exposed to the thermal laser peel light.

What Are Treatments Like?
Treatments are different for each person. Laser peels deliver thermal laser energy to the skin, so some people may find the laser light sensation much like heat on the skin. Most people tolerate laser peels very well with minimal to mild discomfort. Patients who are more sensitive can consult with their performing technician about options that may help their treatment experience.

Immediately after laser peel treatments, patients can experience what some may describe as a sunburn like sensation with some warmth felt in the skin and some redness that subsides over the course of a few days. Some people may experience some swelling, which will also dissipate in the following few days. Most patients can resume daily activities immediately, but they should take extra precautions to avoid direct sun exposure by wearing sunscreen and keeping their newly treated areas well hydrated.

How does NightLase work?
Fotona’s patented Er: YAG laser allows a safe penetration of heat into the oral mucosa tissue. Wart Removal

Fotona offers treatment for a wide range of warts and verrucae using both the ND:Yag and ER lasers. This treatment provides extremely precise ablation of warts paired with deep and selective absorption of the ND:Yag causing the coagulation of blood vessels, feeding the wart causing death of infected cells. Antibacterial effects from the treatment promote faster healing and reduce the possibility of reoccurrence.

There is no anaesthesia or extra tissue removal. And no special post procedure is necessary. Making this a very easy and effective way of removing warts.

Fungal Nail Infection/Fungus

At NEA Precision Skin, our ClearSteps™ Onychomycosis Treatment is a revolutionary, patient-friendly method for treating onychomycosis (toenail fungus). It is a simple and effective procedure that uses the power of ND: YAG laser light to heat evenly throughout the depth of the affected nail and skin tissue, effectively weakening and killing parasitic fungi which have infected the patient’s nails.

Healthy Feet

The most common cause of onychomycosis is dermatophyte fungus that invades the dead tissue of skin or nails. Other causes include contact with certain moulds or species of yeasts. The overall prevalence of onychomycosis ranges from 2 to 14 percent of the population. Onychomycosis is caused by contact with infective fungal agents. Since these agents are present everywhere in our environment, everyone potentially is at risk for infection. Common sources for infection could include public showers, swimming pools, nail spas and gyms. Nail trauma and tight fitting shoes can also lead to infection.

Onychomycosis Treatment

Three Simple Steps

Step 1
File down the Nail. During onychomycosis the nail will become deformed and overgrown, it may also thicken. Filing down the nail allows laser light to fully penetrate into the treatment site.

Step 2
Administer Nd:YAG laser pulses in a circular pattern covering the entire nail. Slightly overlap the beam so that the nail is fully covered. The patient should feel a slight heating sensation throughout the nail.

Step 3
Target Nd:YAG laser pulses around the perimeter of the nail bed and around the finger or toe. Often parasitic fungus has worked its way beyond the nail bed and needs to be eliminated in all the tissue surrounding the nail to prevent recurrence.

The treatment involves passing a laser beam over the infected nail and surrounding tissue, resulting in a photo-thermal heating effect that weakens and kills the fungi that cause the infection. A single treatment usually takes about 45 minutes to treat 10 nails. You may feel a heating sensation during the treatment, however you can leave immediately after the procedure and resume your daily routine. You could also experience some slight discolouration of the nail after the treatment.

Results

Improvement may be seen after a single session, however best results are typically achieved through a series of 3-4 treatments. Successful treatment will result in the growth of a new, healthy nail. However it could take up to 1 year to see an entirely clear nail, depending on the rate of growth.

Cosmetic Injectables/ Neuromodulators

Neuromodulator (not a dermal filler) is a temporarily relax specific muscles by blocking the nerve impulses. It is approved by Health Canada, and has a 30 year safety record.
As the treated muscles relax, dynamic wrinkles and lines created by their contraction gradually fade, and sometimes even disappear completely resulting in smooth skin. The earlier a patient starts Neuromodulator, the smoother their face will appear as they age. Regularly scheduled injections can actually prevent wrinkles including common forehead wrinkles and under eye wrinkles.

NEUROMODULATOR INJECTIONS ARE SAFE WHEN ADMINISTERED BY AN EXPERIENCED PRACTITIONER WITH EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF FACIAL ANATOMY.
Moreover Neuromodulator is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. It is a medication known as a Neuromodulator, specifically Onabotulinun Toxin A. Neuromodulator temporarily reduces frown lines by relaxing the muscles that cause deep lines and wrinkles on the forehead. Treatment with Neuromodulator takes 10 to 20 minutes in most cases. Some patients see results as soon as 24 hours with the average time for full results being three days.

The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show natural facial expressions such as smiling. Injection of neuromodulators for cosmetic purposes is, in fact, the number one medical aesthetic treatment performed worldwide.
